Joining “the largest networking and educational experience in the land title industry” at the ALTA ONE conference in Miami, Florida earlier this October were several Title Source team members and leaders who were eager to be part of the conversation.

“We’re always looking for ways to build a stronger network and grow our relationships within the industry,” said Brad Miller, Vice President of Title Operations at Title Source. “ALTA ONE is a great opportunity for idea-sharing and networking with our industry peers.”

The annual event, now in its second year, was hosted by the American Land Title Association, better known as ALTA. Founded in 1907, ALTA has since become the national trade association of more than 6,000 title insurance agents, abstracters and underwriters.

This year’s conference, which was titled “Ready for What’s Next,” brought together industry professionals at the Trump National Doral Miami and covered a wide range of topics, many of them dealing with emerging technologies, cyber security and the shifting regulatory environment. Over the course of four days and dozens of sessions, attendees discussed everything from the digitization of the closing process and the impact of the CFPB, to social media real estate marketing and the effects of marijuana laws on the industry.

Title Source was represented at the event by members of the company’s Title Operations, Escrow, Technology and Legal teams, among others. Among those in attendance was Jody Rogow, Title Source’s Deputy General Counsel and member of the ALTA Title Counsel Committee and ALTA Government Affairs Committee.

“ALTA ONE is the major learning event for the land title industry,” Rogow said.  “Being involved as an ALTA committee member not only allows us to stay current with laws affecting our industry, but also allows us to have representation and input as the committees develop and implement strategies that shape the title industry.”

After concluding their four-day journey, the Title Source team returned home to review their notes and discuss how to best implement what they learned and discussed during their time at the event.

“There were some great takeaways from this year’s conference,” Miller said. “As a company, we really enjoy the opportunity to be involved in the discussion, and we find a lot of value in staying connected with the larger title community.”
